The zone is known for its wonderful landscape and is very calm and quite place. The beauty of this place is appreciated by all the visitors. This is one of the most tiger rich areas of the park.Birjani consists of a mixed topography with dense Sal forests combined with grasslands. The entry to this zone is through Aamdanda Gate.

About Dhikala Zone

The most visited safari zone of the Corbett National Park, Dhikala is 19 kilometers from Ramnagar, approximately 50 kilometers inside the Corbett National Park. It is the largest zone of the park, where you can enjoy both, canter and jeep safari. Located on the edges of the Patli Dun valley, Dhikala Zone is known for wildlife sightseeing. The prime attraction among the vividly rich wildlife in Dhikala zone is the Royal Bengal Tiger and the Asiatic elephants. To the delight of the tourists, this zone is fairly populated with these big animals and thus most often tourists have been bestowed with the graceful sighting of the Royal Bengal tigers and herds of Asiatic elephants. Dhikala zone named after the large Dhikal grassland which is the largest grassland in the Corbett Reserve landscape. About Durga Devi Zone

Durga Devi Zone is the hill safari zone filled with wildlife beauty and adventure within the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Located at the North-Eastern side of the reserve, this area is cris crossed by Ramganga and Mandal rivers at several places. This zone is particularly famous for sighting wild elephants and Otters at Domunda Bridge. Famous Mahsheer fish can also be seen in the river water of Durga Devi zone. Lush green forest in this range provides ample opportunity for bird watching as well.

Tourist can stay for night in Lohachaur Forest Rest House of this zone. Visitors can take Jeep safari to enjoy wildlife in the zone. Booking for the zone can be done using the official website. Durga Devi Zone is open for visitors from 15 October to 15 June and remains closed during monsoon season.

Durgadevi gate is the entry gate to this zone, which is located at the distance of 28 km from the nearest city of Ramnagar which makes it the farthest zone from the Ramnagar. This zone has also a forest rest house named Lohachaur forest house where tourists can enjoy the night stay and get the utmost experience of the dense raw forest. In order to enjoy the day Jeep safari or the night stay in the forest rest house, the tourists have to obtain the permit to enter the park. It is better to get the booking done in advance as there is a huge rush of tourists in the park, especially, on weekends and holidays.

About Dhela Zone

This is the newest and sixth eco-tourism zone that was opened for tourists in December 2014. Dhela Ecotourism zone remains open for tourists throughout the year. This zone is extremely rich in flora and fauna. The zone spreads over 1,173 hectares, which has mixed forests of Sal, Rohini, Haldu, Bahera, Kusum vegetation, and tigers, leopards, Asiatic elephants, sloth bears and king cobras. The area is particularly rich in bird diveristy. This zone is rich in the fauna species too with the animals like the Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, wild elephants, Nilgai, different species of Deer, wild bears and the various species of reptiles and birds. This zone is well known especially for the vast range of bird species and considered as the best zone for birding. One can book the day safari to visit this zone and be the part of this magnificent part of the Corbett forest. Apart from the safari entry permit, you also have to book a Jeep and a guide, without which you can't get the entry inside the forest.

Garjia Tourist Zone is a very popular area of the spectacular Corbett Tiger Reserve. This zone is enriched with a huge number of floral and faunal species. Garjiya gives a tough competition to Dhikala zone while the tourist’s preferences are concerned. The zone is known for its wonderful landscape and is very calm and quite place. The beauty of this place is appreciated by all the visitors. This is one of the most tiger rich areas of the park.Birjani consists of a mixed topography with dense Sal forests combined with grasslands.

The region has FRHs in both the Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary and the Domunda Tourism Zone of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Halduparao, the only FRH in the Sonanadi Sanctuary and can be accessed from the Vatanvasa gate. The FRH at Kanda is in Corbett National Park. The FRHs of Morghatti and Pakhro are on the periphery of the Sonanadi Sanctuary and can be approached from Kalagarh and Kotdwar. The FRHs of Lohachaur, Rathuawadhab and Mundiyapani are in the Domunda Tourism Zone of CTR accessed from the. Durgadevi gate ahead of Ramnagar, The FRH of Kalagarh can be approached short of Ramnagar while that of Mohaan is 30km ahead of Ramnagar. Sonanadi Sanctuary is spread over 301.18 sqkm of prime forests of the Shiwalik Terai biotic province. Sonanadi literally means the river of gold. Gold panning used to be carried out in the river before the area became a sanctuary.

Sonanadi zone falls on Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctuary which is a part of Corbett Tiger Reserve. This is the only zone in Jim Corbett where tourists can walk on foot but richly housed by non-venomous snakes of different kinds. Popular mammals in the region are tiger, leopards and elephants. The Palain and the Mandal are the perennial streams of the sanctuary. Historically, it was carved out of Kalagarh Forest Division. It was brought under the umbrella of Project Tiger and became a part of the Corbett Tiger Reserve in 1991 and also a part of Project Elephant. There are no villages inside the sanctuary. The forests of Pakhro are remarkable for dense sal and rich bamboo clusters besides other species and is teeming with wildlife. Pakhro range is located in Pakhro Wildlife Sanctuary which is a part of Corbett National Park. Developed as a natural habitat of wildlife animals and birds, Pakhro range is blessed with amazing beauty of flora and fauna. Situated in the north of Pakhro river, this zone is favorite place for Asiatic Elephant along with tiger, cheetal, sambhar, leopard and reptiles.
